You could have convinced me this was true while people were
still using Linux 1.2.13. With the advent of Redhat 4.0, a new series
of cache corruption bugs has started to appear under Linux; I have not
ever been bitten bad enough to lose work over this, but anyone on my
6.035 team can attest that even moderate load creates inconsistencies
in the Linux AFS cache.

It may still be reasonable to update that section.
