This is to announce a more general Beta Release of Linux-AFS, a port of
Transarc AFS to NetBSD-1.0_BETA/i386, for the MIT community. Due to
licensing arrangements for AFS, this software should not be distributed
beyond MIT.
While I have been able to use this software, it is not guaranteed that
it won't scribble over your hard drive and destroy your ram chips.
The current release is not guaranteed to work on any version of
NetBSD/i386 earlier than 1.0_BETA.
You can obtain NetBSD/i386-AFS from the afsdev locker on athena. Access to
this directory is limited to authenticated AFS users.
attach afsdev
cd /mit/afsdev/beta/i386_nbsd1
[For non-Athena sites, that's
/afs/athena.mit.edu/astaff/project/afsdev/beta/i386_nbsd1].
In that directory you will find a README file with installation
directions, and a distribution tarball.
Please watch the beta directory in afsdev for further updates and
bug-fix releases. If you have any questions, please feel free to
ask!
==John Kohl
