the thing still has a server... just because your display isn't
set doesn't mean it has no graphics card/display system.
You shouldn't rely on machtype -d telling you if YOU can use the graphics 
capability. Most machines you telnet to still have a display, even
if they won't allow you to use it (note, you can get graphics out
of ringworld if you try hard enough)....

sorry.. it is useful. you might want to check for DISPLAY before 
running machtype if that's what you want.
