So, I wanted to view multimedia files based on Quicktime 3 and Intel Video 5
since xanim doesn't support them yet. I could use the mac for Quicktime 3,
but not for IV 5. After learning the password (really, I know it this time!),
I tried to view my files on a CD.

To my surprise, NT 5.0 is REALLY broken. The Multimedia Player just flashes
and exits for no reason I can see. Also, Netshow server complains about
incompatible ole files. You can't download either Mplayer or Netshow from
MS, because it has a broken link. I installed Netscape 4.5 to see whether it
was browser dependent, but it wasn't.

When you go under control panel and try to click Add/Remove programs (I
accidently installed Real Player with netscape) nothing happens.

So, I went to NT 4.0 and installed the necessary components (Netscape,
Multimedia Player, Matrox Millenium II drivers, Intel E100B ethernet card
drivers, etc.) and configured the network. Lo and behold, I can view the
files now.

After I finished, I booted DT into NT 5.0 again in hopes someone with more
knowledge can fix it.

Sincerely,

Fast Cart
