The purpose of these statements was to emphasize that the classes are
for experienced programmers who are beginning to learn JAVA.
If you are an experienced JAVA programmer, attending these classes
will probably put you to sleep.
On the other hand, if you don't have a programming background, you
will have an extremely steep learning curve. Having a background
that only includes a training class in basic will probably not lead
to success. At a minimum, it would slow down the class for the
attendees that DO have a strong programmer background.

No, just focused.

That's the point. If JAVA is not evangelized beyond the "Javanites",
this technology will go the way of NeWS and be thrown into the bit-bucket
no matter how technically superior it is.
For several years, I have noticed that there has been discussion about
what language will replace C++. JAVA has the potential to replace
C/C++ as the default language for software development.
The focus of my courses are to move JAVA from the domain of "Javanites" to
the domain of main-stream MIS/Data-Processing programming.

Matt
