How to fetch the screen resolution?

Hi,
Does anyone know of a java library call which will return the resolution
of the screen the browser is running on? I wrote an applet which needs
the screen resolution (horiz and vertical pixels/inch), and it's a pain
to have to hard code it in HTML, thus making the page machine dependent.
