Hi,
Hopefully I will not get flamed for my questions. And, if you are planning
to flame me, please keep it to yourself. I don't care to know, that I don't
know, and you know more!
I am a bit new to Java. I decided to subscribe to this daily mailing to try
to find out more about Java. I am finding some of the topics hard to
follow. I am a Windows and Linux user. And, understand that Java is only
available for Windows NT and other platforms and the Windows '95 version is
expected to be released soon.
Question #1
Is there a version of Java that works with Linux? Windows 3.1? Windows '95?
Question #2
Where can I get the FAQ on Java?
Question #3
Specifically, how will Java benefit someone whom does a lot of HTML authoring?
I understand that HotJava has a lot of neat features that can be used with
WWW creations. Some effects are already poping up on some home page
creations. Namely, 3D and movable icons. Where can I learn how to create
these effects. Indeed, the 3D effect will provide all kinds of interesting
applications for the WWW environment.
Question #4
Is there a beta version of Java I can download to use?
I would appreciate if you could email me answers to these questions.
Thank you,
Bob Hiscock
