The Socket class appears to support only TCP/IP and
is defined as final. Is there a reason the Socket
class is so restricted when the underlying socket
API supports various network protocols? On Windows
95 WinSock includes support for Novell's IPX/SPX.
If I can't subclass Socket how can I add support for
IPX/SPX in any useful way?
