Here's the latest info on the upcoming "Java in the Military" Seminar
at Monmouth University on May 9, which is coupled with Monmouth
University's Software Open House (May 8). Keep in mind, that this
information could change in the future. I'm just trying to give
everyone interested as much advance notice as possible.

     Confirmed speakers:

Rob Dyer--- JUGMAP & Seminar moderator (General Dynamics Land Systems)
Cynthia Rand--- Deputy to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for
C3I of the US Department of Defense
Dr. Rebecca Stafford--- President of Monmouth University
Dr. Chuck Engle--- DISA Advisor over Ada-to-Java compiler development
Dr. Rick Conn--- Manager of Public Ada Library

     Still to be invited:

Dr. Bill Wulf --- U. ov VA professor, Java security critic/commentator
Kevin Kelley --- MITRE Java investigator
Sun Microsystems Java Rep --- STRONG POSSIBILITY
     <YOU?>

The agenda is still in its development stages. Any suggestions? Get
     your input in now!

Would you like to attend the Monmouth U. Software Open House and/or
"Java in the Military" seminar? Just send e-mail to dyerr@gdls.com
AND conn@moncol.monmouth.edu. Please send the mail to both of us so
that both Monmouth U. and General Dynamics can be notified of your
     interest.

Thanks for your JUGMAP involvement and don't be shy about submitting
your opinions. We want to make this a forum for sharing ideas, not
just expertise. For example, what has everyone heard about Java? Why
do you, as a JUGMAP member, care about Java's use in the military?

I await your responses to jugmap@sug.org...

     Regards,
