Well, I sent this one three days ago and it was never sent, but I assume it
might be of interest to all Java hackers, so here we go again:

I have the pleasure to announce Manning's first International Java Applet
Contest. Please point your browsers to our contest site:

Here are some preliminary details:
$1000 offered for best Java Applet
Manning Publications announces its first International Java Applet
Contest to encourage the development of Java applets for
non-programmers. The prizes include a $1000.- Grand Prize plus
software from Rogue Wave and Natural Intelligence for other
winners.
Selected applets will also be included in "Java Applets for
Non-Programmers", a book to be published by Manning Publications.
Using the official entry form you can submit entries in the
following categories:
o Typography
o Graphics
o Typography
o Graphics
o Presentations
o Multimedia
o Navigation
o Live data
o Miscellaneous
Be sure to check out the rules and format for submitting applets.
We will accept entries from March 30, 1996 until April 15, 1996.
