Dear sir,

When I heard about Java at the first time, I was very pleasure.
So I immediatly download hotjava version 1.0 Alpha3 and JDK from net.My
computer's platform is win95,I put hotjava under c:/hotjava/hotjava and JDK
under c:/hotjava/java,and then I didn't do any chang.
But when I used it ,I found many questions which I didn't know how to
slove. Could you help me?
1: When I use File/open to open http://192.9.200.201/ ,it told me that
Failed to got:http://192.9.200.201/ ,Reason is :net.Socket Exception:connect.
2:When I use JDK ,I could see all examples under the directory demo from
netscape2.0.But I couldn't see all examples under the directory demo from
netscape2.0, when I use hotjava/demo.Why?
3:From demo,I could find many .java program.when I use javac to compile
them,I could not succeed.For example,under the directory
c:/hotjava/java/demo/CardTest/,when I compile CardTest.java under MS_DOS
prompt,it told me that Super class java.applet.Applet of class CardTest not
found .
4:How to define a set of environment variables? From a book, I found it
use setenv to define environment variables, but I don't know where I could
use setenv?Which environments I must define, and if possible, could you tell
me how to set them according to my computer?
5:Could you tell me the difference between app and application?
   6:What's new on java?

That is all of my questions.I hope to hear from you soon.
   Thank you for your assistance.

                                                Sincerely yours,
                                                        Qianwen Zhang
