That may indeed be the case, but the mail backlog had a simpler explanation.
The machine that was actiing as mailhost for us was having lots of trouble
and the owners were out of town for a day. When they got back and kicked it
all 500 queued messages got burped up at once.
Tim Lindholm and I are looking to replace our current java.sun.com with a
newer configuration. It won't guarrantee flawless mail, http, and ftp access
but at least when something goes wrong we will be able to fix it ourselves.
