A question from someone who has tried to answer questions for others:

I am creating a frame and filling it with various items using the
GridBagLayout layout.

One of the items in my new frame is a panel that I am using as a
colored status bar.

Upon creation, the status bar resize()s itself. But, the problem is,
the frame won't resize to accomidate it and the other items in the
frame end up getting covered up by the new, larger staus bar. I even
make a call to getParent().resize() in the paint() method of the status
bar. The frame does resize, but it won't update the display (even w/ a
call to repaint()).

Anyone have *any* ideas?

Thanks,
Todd
