How do youtset the hilite of a button to "Down" position after its been hit?

Hi all,
I'm trying to modify the hilite of a button to "Down" position
after its been hit using the 'action' event handler; I'm trying
to get it to STAY down after its been hit. Am having no luck.
Can someone please help me out?
I'm actually trying to make this nice interface for a drawing
package that I'm turning into a CAD tool.
