I stopped at my local bookstore today and looked at the book 'Learn Java 
in 21 days' (or whatever the title is).  The problem is that the class 
for HelloWorld's applet is not defined as 'public'. Not sure if that is 
your problem or not... but that will cause a problem with most any JAVA 
browser.
