I haven't looked into this very much, but supposedly Java under
Netscape isn't allowed to connect to any hosts other than the one
where the applet came from (i.e., the web server).  Are you trying
to connect to a different host?

The exception to this rule is if the applet was loaded as a file from
your local drive, in which case it can read and write to disk and
(presumably?) connect to other servers, depending upon how the
browser enforces security.

Someone please correct me if this is in error!  :)

On another note, is anyone doing an Informix-savvy port of WISQL?
