Use your favorite zip utility and save the classes in an uncompressed form.
The Unix zip we use (used to be called info-zip, I think) has a "-0" option
to store files without compressing them.
If your classes are in packages, you'll need to store the package information
as well, by invoking the zip file from the top-level directory. For example,
to create a zip file with the packages in the java/classes directory (on
Solaris), cd to java/classes, then "zip -r <package names>".
