Here's something that I think would be a great idea.

I have heard nothing but problems from people trying
to install Java on their Linux systems;  you need this
version of this, the red ELF won't work with the blue
Daemon, and so on.

How about making Java part of the standard Linux
distributables (pre-installed), just as smalltalk,
C++, lisp, etc., are? 

Gnu-Java?  Why not?

Will the people who control Linux please give a buzz
to the Javasoft/Sun people, or vice-versa?
