Hi!
I've written an applet on my NT 3.51 Workstation and can run in from Netscape
Gold while running the EMWACS HTTP server on the same box - great stuff.
However when I move the HTML and class file to my production server (which
is a VAX running the Indiana University HTTPD). Any access to the page and
consequently the applet generates the following messages in the java console:
---cut here---
# Applet exception: error: java.lang.ClassFormatError
java.lang.ClassFormatError
at netscape.applet.AppletClassLoader.loadClass(AppletClassLoader.java:87)
at netscape.applet.AppletClassLoader.findClass(AppletClassLoader.java:168)
at netscape.applet.AppletClassLoader.loadClass(AppletClassLoader.java:121)
at netscape.applet.AppletClassLoader.loadClass(AppletClassLoader.java:100)
at netscape.applet.MozillaAppletContext.loadClass(MozillaAppletContext.java:420)
at netscape.applet.EmbeddedAppletFrame.run(EmbeddedAppletFrame.java:230)
at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:289)
---cut here---
My transfer was admittedly done by zipping the files up - getting them onto the
VAX and then unzipping them in the WWW directory.
I'm stumped - any ideas?
TIA
