Hi all,

Not sure just what happened, but everything used to work until I started
playing with Java.

I am currently using Win95 with 8 MB of Ram (that's about to change!) on a
486 DX 50. While the system is slow, it used to be rock solid re:surfing
the net.

This weekend I started playing with the beta SDK from Sun, and suddenly my
Netscape 2.0 b6a died. Actually, I had been using b5 and decided (after it
died) to download and install b6a. It is my feeling that all the problems
came after I started using Appletviewer, although it might have been
something else.

I discovered that Dos 7.0 (what you get when you make a Dos box) didn't
support long file names, so one of the first things I did was make a copy of
AppletViewer and call it Appletv. I can't imagine that is a problem, but
anyway, that's what I was really running.

I seem to be able to use Netscape some, although it dies very quickly. It
can not view Java and will die immediately when presented with Java.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Gene Sewell
