Need AWT example

I am looking for an example of the use of AWT not in an applet environment,
just a vanilla windowed app perhaps with a window, buttons, scrollbars, menubar,
and a drawing area. I have a copy of the JAVA! book, but since it deals with
the Alpha version of JAVA, the examples (especially AWT) are way off.
