Agreed. I was thinking in terms of Java been a cross-platform scripting
language, an OSA-compliant language.

I see what you are saying.

The former case you need to build a direct-to-SOM Java compiler to avoid
fiddling with the *.idl files.

The latter case is essentially a HotJava broswer part i.e. if you were
decomposing the HotJava brwoser into parts you would certainly have one of
these.

And if you have the former you can do the latter using the HotJava source
code with a bit of effort! Now there's an interesting project.
