Hello All,
So, our animation applets work fine on our Win95 machines, our sites (though not
animated) look fine on Macintoshes with Netscape Navigator 2/b(2&3). Yet, when we
visited the CyberJava Cafe in LA, our animation applets produce 'Animation Applet not
initialized...' in Navigator's status line and the standard grey applet frame (where we
expected to see our animation). In fact, some applets we visited on Gamelan also did not
produce anything. Only the coffee-mug animation on http://java.sun.com executed as
intended. We're compiling to bytecode with the JDK 1.0/Beta 1.
We assured the 'Disable Java' option on the Options:Security Preferences:General dialog
was not checked. Then, we flushed the memory/disk cache - even exited Navigator and
entered again. Tried reloading the page with View:Reload, paging for forward and
backward again. No change.
Any ideas? What did we miss?
Surf's up,
Damion jl Hankeh
