Problem with Beta 2 appletviewer

I installed the Beta 2 JDK for Win32 (I'm using NT 3.51) today and now the
appletviewer doesn't work anymore.
The program aborts with "Exception in thread NULL"
The problem seems to be dependent of the setting of the "HOME"
variable, but I couldn't find a correct path for it!
The Beta 1 appletviewer worked almost perfectly...
Does anyone know a solution?
