We're pleased to announce the availability of the 1.0 Beta 2 release
of the Java Developers Kit (JDK).

website, for full details and downloading instructions.
The Beta 2 release is available for Windows 95, Windows NT on Intel
platforms, and Solaris 2.3 and above on SPARC platforms. The
Macintosh (MacOS 7.5) is targeted for release in early 1996. Please
check our web site (http://java.sun.com) for updates.
The Beta 2 release contains bug fixes and API improvements and
additions since the Beta release. See the "Changes since the last
release" page, http://java.sun.com/JDK-beta2/changes.html, for
full details.
The JDK allows you to:
---------------------
- Develop applets that conform to the final applet API
- Create applets that run in all Java-enabled browsers
- Develop Java standalone applications
- Experiment with the new debugger API (and a prototype
command-line debugger)
NOTE: The Beta 2 JDK release does NOT include a Web browser.
