I got HotJava for Solaris x86 and an unsupported version of JDK, also for
Solaris x86 at ftp://xm.com:/pub/
In that directory you will find a file named
hotjava.solaris.x86.tar.Z
which is an add-on for SPARC-Solaris HotJava (Alpha) that will make it
compatible with the x86 platform.
I don't remember the name of the JDK file. It is something like...
jdk-beta.solaris.x86.UNSUPPORTED.tar.Z
It doesn't contain the demo files, nor any documentation. Get the SPARC version,
rename the bin, lib, include and classes directories (e.g. classes.sparc, etc.)
and unpack the beta version over it. It also includes a Beta version of HotJava
for x86 Solaris.
I have been using the x86 JDK and up to now had no problems with it.
Helder.
