| I'm very interested in Java for DEC Unix/OSF - is it available, anyone
| doing any ports? If not now, when? Where is it available? How much does
| it cost?

I'm working on a port do the Alpha. My current status is that I have
everything compiled (using extreme hacks in some cases), but 'java'
dies in the context switching code (not surprising since that is were
my biggest hacks occur). I've posted all but my most recent diffs
to the java-porting list (http://java.sun.com/archives/java-porting/0196.html).
I will post my recent changes as soon as I get a spare cycle.

My next step is to take more of an engineering approach to porting the
the thread stuff, removing as many as the hacks as I can (there is a
slight learning curve here, though). Comments and suggestions about
my changes are more than welcome (I have very thick skin :-).

P.S. I've cross-posted to the java-porting list since that is where
this discussion belongs. Additional discussion should be moved
to that list only. (IMHO)
