"applet not initialized" - any ideas?

I can run local applets with appletviewer but the same applets will
not run with Netscape 2.0b3. Netscape will run the applets off the
net but NOT the ones on my local machine - even if I copy the identical
applet source from the net locally. Message...

Any ideas?
