I've been trying to get some comment out of anyone on the plans on handling
realtime 3D. I've been unable to receive any direction from the Dimension X
guys on what they plan to do with Iced Java, other than use it for their own
Liquid Reality product. Their CEO was uncertain at Siggraph, and my call to
them since has gone unanswered.

Have I missed it somewhere that Sun intends to incorporate Iced Java in a
future release? If not, RenderWare or BRender could provide an excellent
cross-platform solution (having been thus far unable to discern Iced Java
details).

How about the folks at Brown... they seemed to be taking a serious interest
and appeared to have close ties with the Java team back at Siggraph...

Certainly efficient handeling of performance sensitive media types such as
realtime 3D and video decompression/playback is where Java is currently weak
(granted there are higher priorities at the moment). Will Sun buy,
collaborate, or roll their own?
