Netscape beta2, Solaris 2.4, beta Java: applets do not run

After struggling to get Netscape run with applets (the CLASSPATH
variable being the main suspect), I can't even run the "HellooWorld
applet. It starts running it, then comes come with a load of error
messages.
Has anyome else had any problems in this area?
