appletContext and HTML content

I'm trying to do something, that hopefully is simple:
Using the Beta-1 JDK, and Netscape 2.0bj:
1) Access and display a HTML page from an applet
2) Use POST method to invoke a CGI script.
Could anyone tell me if/how this can be done using the
current API ?
I would think that using getAppletContext(), and then
invoking context.showDocument() would do this, but
it dosn't seem to be the case.
