I had the same problem. I think this is due to the fact that a file:/ and an
http:/ take different pathways through the io code. And knowing how badly
netscape screwed up the io(either net or file) code it wouldnt surprise me that
loading things from file will not work.
P.S. Someone in Netscape should have their head examined for doing this to
java.
