OK, I downloaded the NT release and started hacking.
After my first HelloWorldApp I became audacious, found an AWTest.java.
The toolkit looks nice and familiar, more like Motif than Microsoft, good news.
WRTest.java compiles fine on my NT and I felt ready to redo an application
in Java for exercise.
To my dismay I found I could not run it.
There is a class called WRTest that contains a main, OK, there is a
WRTest.class in my ~/java/classes directory, OK, my CLASSPATH points there, OK.
I say java WRTest and it says it cannot find the class.
OK, I know it is a beginner question, but where is the mistake?
If I just learn this and how to open a file I think I can have an
application in minutes, I like Java.
