The Animator applet is afraid of the line!

I hava a BIG problem with the "Animator" applet.
When I tried to use it "on line", it acted like it doesn't find the directory in which I put the frames (T1.gif, T2.gif, T...).
It work pretty well in my own directory, but it die again when I try to get the frames from the server instead of from my directory.
Can anybody help me? Do I need to install Java on the server?
