I have two questions about the new pre-beta JDK awt package.
a] I'd like to know how the awt class hierarchy is supposed to work.
Is there a similar user interface that I can look up or a good
book I can read to understand the awt architecture ?
The html documentation of the awt classes doesn't explain the
overall design philosophy and this is making it hard for me to
figure out how to use the classes. I have a Design Patterns book
that explains some of the ideas like components and containers.
b] Could some kind soul please send me an example of a standalone
java program(not an applet) that creates a window on the screen
and draws a line in the window ?
I am running Solaris 2.3 and X11.
Thanks,
Leslie Picardo
