The Java release train is picking up steam, and we need your help in making
the 1.0 JDK the best we can make it. If you are evaluating the pre-beta JDK
Solaris release, we ask that you:

. Please file any and all problems you find ASAP. First, read the known
   problems list (http://www.javasoft.com/JDK-prebeta1/knownbugs.html).
If your problem isn't listed there, there are two ways to submit your
bug. The preferred way is via:

	http://java.sun.com/GettingInTouch/BugReport.html

If you have problems using that form, send mail to
"java-bugs@java.sun.com", including the information asked by the
Bug Report form. The sooner we receive your report, the sooner your
   problem can be fixed.

. Please don't assume that someone else has already reported a problem,
or that Sun will find it independently. If it's not on the list,
   report it!

. Please send criticisms of the JDK API to java-bugs@java.sun.com. We
want to know specifically what problems you are having converting
alpha3 applets, as well as other problems implementing applets or
   applications with Java.

. Please send issues regarding our documentation to java-bugs@java.sun.com.
(you may notice a theme here :-)

. Once you've converted your applets to the JDK, please let us know at
java@java.sun.com: give us the URL and whether you wish your page to
be publicly linked. The more applets we have access to, the better
we can test our product. Note that the load at java@java is very high,
so please accept our gratitude in advance -- you might not get an
   individual acknowledgment.

In general, our focus for this part of the release cycle is on the nitty-
gritty details: what doesn't work, what's hard to use, what's preventing
you as a developer from getting work done. Discussions about new
features are best held until after 1.0 goes out the door -- thanks to
your enthusiasm, there will certainly be later releases.
