I agree with both of these statements.  The behavior of Java threads leaves
far too much room for unintentional antisocial behavior.  Something like Java
is clearly what is needed for interactive networked computing, but the system
that prevails in that work is going to have to be something that prevents
naive programmers from screwing up badly.
