Well, from the postings on this and other list one gets an impression
that people appreciate the efforts of the Java team to make the language
clear, as similar to C++ as possible and useful in general. I would like
to propose for consideration that they spent much more time and effort to
make Java as secure as possible while sacrificing least possible amount
of ease-of-programming. This can be seen in the alpha/beta differences.
But we can get around without pointers (to functions or otherwise), and
cannot get around security holes.
