The Java language is one of the most significant new programming
languages available. The Java language simplifies object-oriented
programming and adds security, portability, advanced networking and
multithreading. In addition, the HotJava WWW browser, written entirely
in Java, is the first to enable applications to be coded into HTML
pages. Instead of simply reading pages, HotJava browser users execute
computer applications on their screens, so they can interact with
multimedia applications in real-time.

SunService Education is pleased to offer two new courses on Java Programming.
The Basics
----------
Basic Java Programming (starting October 16) is a three-day project course
and covers an introduction to the Java language and how to use Java
applets with HotJava to create your own spectacular WWW home page. The
focus of the three days is to get you started with Java. We cover:

* An overview of objects and HTML
* Basic Java language constructs (loops, branching, assignment)

* Java class packages and subclasses
* Interfaces, exceptions and access modifiers
* Memory allocation and garbage collection
* An overview of multithreading in Java
* How to extend Java by using native methods
* ...and more!
The advanced course will also provide you with tangible benefits - not
only will you be able to create your own Java classes, but the point-
of-sale application is yours to take home with you.
