Question: JDK problem.

Hi I just downloaded JDK and uncompressed it.
Tried running appletviewer on example1.html as specified in the
README.
Heres what happens on the first example I try :
> ../../bin/appletviewer -debug example1.html
Loading jdb ...
. Uncaught exception of type java.lang.NullPointerException
java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError char_arraycopy
at java.lang.StringBuffer.append(StringBuffer.java)
at java.tools.ttydebug.TTY.main(TTY.java:1201)
Did I miss something ? Am running on Solaris ..
