This is the exact reason I asked. The question has been out there and NO
answer of any kind has ever been given (that I can find). I searched the
list archives...no responses in there. I checked the web site...the status
information has never said more than it'll be out some day. Even a guess
if it will be out by year end would be helpful.

Unfortunately, the Mac is one of the few major platforms left that hasn't
had so much as an alpha release for developers to start taking a look at.

That's ok, I can understand your frustration at the same question being
asked repeatedly. Please understand ours when no answer is given.
It would be nice to know if we should head out and pick up Windows or Unix
machines to work on Java for the next 6 months before anything becomes
available for the Mac.
