I am yet to get a source file to successfully compile. After entering
the command ' javac filename.java ' and waiting about 5 seconds the dos
shell prompt
returns with no error messages, making me think that a 'filename.class' was
constructed. However no such file ever shows up. If I proceed to run the
hello world
app I get the red box with broken gears. So I'm stuck. Also, It seems that
you can only
run javac from /hotjava/bin/ where javac and its associated files reside. I
am running
under windows 95. What am I doing wrong ?
