i'm sorry, but i just don't follow your logic.  how does lacking a systems  
programming dialect weaken a language?  and C, as a large influence on what  
java both is and isn't, could be that dialect.  many others have already  
addressed the other points you raise.  the main question i see is "why  
bother?".
