Agreed. Simpler yet: keep a URL to a version database which keeps the
proper record.

Honestly, I'd admit, I haven't dived too far into CORBA. OLE looks
interesting but like the MFC overlay to OLE, we may need a super-layer to
the low level OLE stuff as well.
