Luckily, my original email was not intended to explain how Java fits
into the world.  It's purpose was much simpler - to answer a question
posted to the mailing list.

Rob, as for your analysis of Sun in the current marketplace, it seems
pretty accurate.

I was looking at the above from a different angle.  I would buy the SUN IDE
to
support a technology in its infancy.  Of course, it is difficult to prove
whether 
there would be a direct correlation between purchasing an IDE and SUN's 
support of future development of Java.  It is my gut feeling that there
possibly could be a correlation between those two (even if a small one).

There are times when I am mercenary with my dollars and then there are times
when I support things I wish to flourish.
