Embedding Java interpreter in applications ?

Can anyone comment on the ability to embed the Java interpretive/runtime
environment in an application (ie, ala Tcl)? This doesn't appear possible
(or at least, it's not obvious) in the NT Alpha2 version. I.e., suppose I
want to allow an application, not itself written in Java, to take advantage
of the ability to dynamically download code, as well as add various
behaviour and customizations dynamically ... Will this be supported in a
future version of Java?

Thanks.
