brjordan (BEN R. JORDAN):
If life were nothing but a long drawn out episode
of David Letterman, top ten lists would be flying
all over the place. We'd probably be knee deep in
them before we're knee deep in styrofoam...
The TOP TEN THINGS I WANT TO DO ARE:
10. Go to Graceland.
9. Climb Mt. Everest.
8. Bike across Europe.
7. Airboat in the Everglades.
6. Make it big in Nashville.
5. Build a log cabin with my own bare hands.
4. Sail around the world with my one-and-only.
3. Start my own company.
2. Drive across the country by myself.
1. Write a book.
I want the little things in life to always matter. In
short, I'd like to become a hunter-gatherer, where my
biggest worry was what kind of shish kabob I was going
to cook up for dinner. In an ideal world, that's all
we'd ever have to worry about.
Well, seriously, I want to do a lot.
The most important of these
is to make a difference.
Making a difference to someone or something is the ULTIMATE success.
YOU'LL MAKE IT NOWHERE WITHOUT KILLER GOALS.
only that day dawns to which we are awake.
walker, there are no roads,
only wind trails on the sea...
FEB 18, 1995: I BET YOU'RE WONDERING WHY I WOULD SAIL AROUND THE WORLD WITH
MY ONE-AND-ONLY BUT WOULDN'T TAKE HER 'CROSS COUNTRY WITH ME. I WOULD LET MY
ONE-AND-ONLY DRIVE AROUND THE COUNTRY WITH ME, BUT I LIKE TO BE ALONE SOME-
TIMES, AND YOU CAN'T JUST KICK SOMEONE OUT OF THE CAR IF THEY START BUGGING
YOU AND YOU WANT TO BE BY YOURSELF FOR AWHILE. NOT THAT YOU CAN EXACTLY BUMP
THEM OFF THE BOAT, EITHER, SO I GUESS YOU HAVE A POINT.
SEPT 5, 1996: I WENT ACROSS THE COUNTRY WITH A FRIEND OF MINE...IT WAS
AWESOME, BUT I THINK IT WOULD BE AMAZING TO GO ALONG WITH MY ONE AND ONLY
NEXT TIME. I GUESS YOU WERE RIGHT.
PEACE is relative. But, hey, most everything else is, too.
Take Care, BENNER

DEAR MISS MANNERS -- Would it be considered rude to send a
thank-you note by fax to a human resource manager after a job
interview?
GENTLE READER -- Miss Manners has been having great fun
assigning degrees of formality to the different ways we now have
of sending messages -- deciding things like whether interoffice
e-mail is more or less formal than a Post-It left on someone's
computer screen. Figuring this out is more amusing than computer
games, she assures you.
Oh, yes, you had a question. The answer is that a thank-you
letter is always nice; the fax is a proper method for delivering
business mail to an office; and it's a terrible idea. If you
don't want to risk its being seen by someone in the office who
had hoped to be promoted into the job you want, put that letter
in the mail.

while(c!=-1){printf("%07x0:",a++);for /* ( kdmiller@athena.mit.edu ) */
(d=0;d<16;d++){c=getchar();b[d]=(c<' ' /* \ (Kenneth D. Miller III) / */
||c>'~')?'.':c;printf( "%s%02x",d&3?"":" ",c&255);}printf(" | %s\n",b);}}
Sorry, I'm not on right now. Try again later...
