eichin (Mark W. Eichin):
travel:
Off in Texas for Tues+Weds.
Off to California next week.
toys:
The metricom "ricochet" modems are *amazing*. kermit is giving
me 1500-2000 cps for large file transfers, from around 750ft away...
and a large encrypted rcp got closer to 2500 cps.
I've got my new subnotebook back again. I Like It!
My old subnotebook is for sale -- see
http://www.mit.edu:8001/people/eichin/laptop.html
for details...
life:
I have complicated friends. This is, however, good. If only I had more
*time*...
hacking:
Linux is subtle and nasty in places. This says it better:
"linux is like a twinkie, it tastes good and it will be aroud for ever"
-- michael webb (flapper@panda.uiowa.edu)
New: buflog.el -- log the amount of time wasted *per emacs buffer*.
Since I spend all of my time in emacs, I'll better be able to
write progress reports. All I've learned is that I spend
6-8h/week on work mail, 6h/week on mit mail, and 30min/week
actually writing the status reports :-)

sgw (stephen g. wadlow):
In April when your barge sailed through,
I fell in love with you.
Alas my paramour, alack,
a stranger to me until the tests come back
Oh the micro-organism, Oh the micro-organism...
Dive in the gene pool, down you swim,
down to where the light grows dim
Flail little fishies, flail if you can
but avoid the micro-organism man.
Oh the micro-organism, Oh the micro-organism
Caffiene, sugar and iced tea
is all the doctors are gonna find in me
When they do they autopsy
the micro-organism won't get me.
Oh the micro-organism, Oh the micro-organism
God is good, god is great
gods a big invertebrate
God made the river change its route
but it won't pull micro-organism out.
Oh the micro-organism, Oh the micro-organism....
The cow slips bloom and the blue bells too
and here's advice I give to you
Rattle your sword before you strike
and never kiss anyone you like.
Oh the micro-organism, Oh the micro-organism...
