yes, it was Colossal Cave (adventure), and I do believe it was past
the t(r)oll bridge. I just stumbled over a copy of the source
recently. The description that I used was one of the most vivid I
remember, and I always enjoyed reading it. You'll see a couple other of
my favorite descriptions here from time to time. :)
even with all of the advances in technology, I still think this
is one of my favorite computer games.
