Work Week! yay!
So, I'm being at Fenway and doing work week, and it's actually kind
of fun, even if it is all the time. :-) It's a lot different this
time than last, since I know the people now; that's most of it.
Work is `not much', since it's work week, but I'm getting along on a
document on the bug-tracking procedure, and I'm trying to figure out
how to use netprob by `brute force', since the people who can show
me are around times that I'm not (since it's work week, I'm very
rarely around). Work week is done soon, though...
Speaking of being in rarely... I'm not reading mail often right
now, so my response time is going to be pretty high, especially if
it's `interesting mail', because right now I'm saving that for
later; spending a first pass dealing with quick stuff and
time-sensitive stuff and culling the junk. Don't even think about
discuss or news or...
Reading is _By The Sword_, Mercedes Lackey. Interesting (to me,
anyway) that I recognized her style and got back into it so quickly,
since the only things of hers I've read are the books of `The Last
Herald-Mage Trilogy', several months ago.
Music is _Maybe You Should Drive_, BareNaked Ladies. Very different
from _Gordon_. Probably the best way to describe the reaction I
expect is ``unfortunately, this sounds like mostly generic music''
(quoth Shabby). Personally, I like it, but I don't know that anyone
else will. :-)

I *really* like this song, and I can't even really put my finger on
the reasons...
_Jane_, BareNaked Ladies
The girl works at the store, sweet Jane St. Clair
Was dazzled by her smile while I shopped there
It wasn't long before I lived with her
I sang her songs while she dyed my hair
Jane, divided, but I can't decide which side I'm on
Jane decided only cowards stay, whlie traitors run
Jane, Jane
I'd bring her gold and frankincense and myrrh
She thought that I was making fun of her
She made me feel I was fourteen again
That's why she thinks it's cooler if we'd just stay friends
Jane doesn't think a man could ever be faithful
Jane isn't giving me a chance to be shameful
Jane, Jane
I wrote a letter, she should have got it yesterday
That life could be better by being together
Is what I cannot explain to Jane
The girl works at the store, sweet Jane St. Clair
Still dazzled by her smile while I shoplift there
No promises as vain as Heaven
No Juliana next to my Evan
Jane, desired by the people at her school and work
Jane is tired because every man becomes a lovesick jerk.
Jane, Jane

A friend brought me flowers, said they were lilacs,
But I've never been good with plants.
Her next presentation, a new dictionary,
She'd circled the word `romance'.
So enthusiastic, a little bit drastic,
I shaved her name in my head.
And as she beheld it, she said I misspelled it;
Need more be said?
